INTERNATIONAL JUMPER FUTURITY- CLASS OF 2005

It's time to get those 4-year-olds out of mothballs! The 2005 International Jumper Futurity Regionals will be on us before we know it. The locations will be Oaks-Blenheim in September, Trader's Point in August, and Duke Childrens Benefit in November. Can't remember if you nominated? Click here for the IJF CLASS OF 2005.

It's not too late to nominate!

If you own a 4-year-old (foal of 2001) by a nominated stallion (VIEW THE LIST for 2000), it's not too late to nominate for the 2005 Regionals. We won't kid you--it's not cheap, but you'd be surprised how many breeders nominate their Futurity horses as 4YOs. Why? Because IJF horses that complete the course are guaranteed instant payback-- a minimum of $1000 in prize money, plus they can earn bonuses that same day and later through the Young Jumper Championships® at ages 5-8!

Have an older stallion with offspring of competition age, or one that's retired, deceased or gelded? It's possible to back-nominate stallions and sometimes makes good economic sense. Contact Joyce Matin at the IJF office for details: ijfoffice@youngjumpers.com or call 425-827-5417 (Pacific Time).

This Week's IJF Winner

Hidden Creek Opal (Charmant - Anka) and Shane Sweetnam won the 6YO Qualifier at the Kilkenny Internationale. Anka has produced 4 IJF horses for Mike Polaski's Hidden Creek Farm.

FAMILY TIES - FUN FACTS ABOUT THE PEDIGREES OF 2005 YOUNG JUMPERS

Nimbus (owned by Jerry & Geri Bidwell) winner of the Desert Circuit 5YO Qualifier is by IJF stallion The Ambassador (pictured), who was a YJC graduate himself, and was bred by Gary Henly. Both Nimbus and El Dorado 29's Audizee (by Admiral Z) were born at Henly's farm in Bend, OR.

Laurin Titty 36 (!), the dam of Abigail Carpenter's KWPN mare Raguna, is daughter of California-based Holsteiner stallion Sandstone Laurin. Beezie Madden pilots Raguna who was bred by M Sonneveld-Kerklaan.

Plaid Ranch is campaigning two full sisters in 2005. They are Nellatina in the 7/8YO and O'Cerafina in the 6YO. Both mares are by Caretino out of Cella, by Zuenftiger (TB) and were bred in Germany by Ernst Buhn. Hap Hansen rides the pair.

Baldini? Suddenly the stallion Baldini bursts on the scene with offspring in two top-three placings this week-- Bingo Bongo owned and ridden by Holly Scapa on the West Coast and Blythe Masters' Grey Goose with Ronan McGuigan on the East. Baldini is a grandson of the Shagya Arabian Bajar who was brought to Schleswig Holstein in an effort to recreate the impact of the famous progenitor Ramzes-- a Shagya/Thoroughbred cross, and grandsire of Ramiro Z. Franz Becker bred Grey Goose, and Hans Werner Hinzmann bred Bingo Bongo.
