VDL to Offer Coconut Grove Frozen Semen in 2008
February 18, 2008 - Tamarack Select, Salt Lake City, Utah is pleased to announce that they have partnered with VDL, Holland in a joint effort to offer frozen semen from their thoroughbred stallion, Coconut Grove, for the 2008 breeding season. Coconut Grove will be listed in the stallion brochure with VDL’s stallions and will be offered to VDL clients. This is a unique situation as VDL has never represented a stallion from the United States prior to this time. VDL’s motto is, “Only the best is good enough.” The fact that they are promoting Coconut Grove and offering his frozen semen to their clients is a true testimony to the quality of the stallion and VDL’s belief in Coconut Grove’s ability to produce outstanding offspring. The van de Lageweg family , operators of VDL, currently own a 2 year old Coconut Grove colt that they are very pleased with. In addition, they have been impressed with the foal crops by the stallion that they have viewed in Holland. Tamara Smith of Tamarack Select, commented, “It is an honor and a privilege for me to work together with VDL in the development and promotion of Coconut Grove. With their knowledge and belief in the future contribution of this stallion to the breeding world, we can not go wrong. I am certain we will all benefit from our combined efforts.” Coconut Grove is well known to the breeding community for his numerous accomplishments. He has a stellar Grand Prix show jumping record. He is the first thoroughbred stallion in U.S. history to be granted a breeding license by the American Holsteiner and American Hanoverian Associations, in addition to having 100% approval status with 9 U.S., 8 European and 1 Canadian registry. He multiple times sired the Highest Scoring Foals of Inspection Tours, has sired premium foals in 9 different registries and has two approved sons. Coconut Grove exemplifies the best of what an exceptional thoroughbred stallion has to offer a breeding program. “Both my father and I have personally seen Coconut Grove, we liked him a lot and believe he can be a very good breeding stallion,” said Janko van de Lageweg of VDL, “We are very happy that we can offer the semen of Coconut Grove to our clients. We look forward to this partnership.” Coconut Grove is that rare world class thoroughbred stallion that every breeder dreams of.
